Battery storage

EcoFlow PowerOcean installerEcoFlow.

PowerOcean is EcoFlow’s home system: a hybrid inverter sitting on top of stacked LFP battery packs, wall mounted or on a floor stand. PowerOcean stacks in modules, so a household can start small and add to it later. It suits a household that expects to add capacity later, or a larger property where more than one stack runs side by side.

EcoFlow

What it is, and who it suits.

A stack that grows

EcoFlow publishes packs of 5 kWh, starting at one and expandable to 60 kWh. One hybrid inverter carries up to 20.4 kWh, and EcoFlow cascades up to three inverters to reach the top of that range.

Usable, not just nominal

EcoFlow publishes a 95 % depth of discharge on the single-phase system: 4.8 kWh usable from one pack, 9.7 kWh from two and 19.4 kWh from four. EcoFlow notes the depth of discharge can vary at low temperature.

Rated for an outside wall, with heating built in

The packs are IP65 with an integrated aerosol fire-prevention module, rated −20 °C to 50 °C, and EcoFlow builds in heating pads to hold them at operating temperature.

When the power goes off

EcoFlow publishes up to 6 kW of continuous off-grid power on the single-phase range, and lists the kind of load it is meant to hold: a heat pump, a fridge, the router.

Quiet enough to live with

Cooling is natural convection at 35 dB or less, so the stack can go in a garage, a utility room or on an outside wall without anyone noticing it working.

Tariffs and the app

The EcoFlow app and web portal run the system, and EcoFlow publishes a dynamic tariff dashboard that connects to platforms such as Octopus Flux or Agile and reads 24 hours ahead.

On the day

What fitting an EcoFlow battery involves.

  • The stack builds upwards: hybrid inverter on top, packs beneath, on a floor stand or fixed to the wall.
  • EcoFlow publishes separate single-phase and three-phase PowerOcean systems. The figures on this page are the single-phase ones.
  • Past 20.4 kWh the system cascades onto a second and third inverter, which means a second and third set of isolators on the wall.
  • IP65 and rated from −20 °C, with heating pads built in, so an outside wall is a normal home for it.
  • The EcoFlow app is the homeowner’s view; there is a separate installer app and portal behind it.

TLDR - Excellent team who provided 5 service throughout at a great price with excellent technical knowledge to deliver a 17.28kW peak solar panel system with 67.5kWh Tesla battery storage

Excellent team at Electrifyd; Andre and Daniel ensured that my solar project was delivered at a great price with support all the way through the planning; installation and after care.

I had a complex installation planned with all 4 roof surfaces to have panels installed and a multiple powerwall 3 set up that needed to work with an existing solar system installed on my garage and eddi solar hot water diverter.

Andre ensured the G99 application was completed quickly and kept me updated on the progress which resulted in approval for 22kW inverter acceptance and a 15kW export limit.

Andre worked with me to provide the highest output of panels that would fit on the roof and meet MCS requirements not just supplying a default panel but looking at the best way to design the system.

The installation went smoothly, Andre and Daniel consulted with me throughout to deliver a neat and minimally intrusive installation. Ensuring all cables were hidden where possible and confirming their route before committing to installation.

Commissioning the system went well and Andre ensured I knew how the Tesla app worked and demonstrated how the system would respond to a grid failure.

The system has performed well so far and has generated 5,653kWh in just under 3 months making my electricity bill negative with SEG export and arbitrage through importing off peak electricity and exporting at peak times.

Andre ensured my Eddi system worked well with the new setup and installed a wireless CT clamp to allow both my existing system and the tesla system to heat the hot water as needed.

After care communication has been good and Andre has answered all questions quickly.

I have recommended Electrifyd to work colleagues because I was happy with the work provided and I would use the team again for future projects.

I recently had a solar panel and battery system installed by Electrifyd UK and I couldn't be more please with the entire experience.

From the initial consultation through to the final installation, the team were professional, knowledgeable and genuinely helpful. They took the time to explain how everything works, answered all my questions clearly and made sure the system was tailored to my needs.

The installation itself was carried out efficiently and with great care. The engineers were punctual, tidy and respectful of the property, leaving everything clean once the work was complete. You can really tell they take pride in what they do.

Since the system has been up and running, the results have been excellent. I can already see the benefits of generating my own electricity, and the battery storage gives a real peace of mind by allowing me to make the most of what I generate.

Overall, a fantastic service from start to finish. I would highly recommend Electrifyd UK to anyone considering solar panels and battery storage.

Electrifyd saved the day. We wanted a battery upgrade to an existing system with some installation challenges and they weren't phased at all. No moaning about difficulty and no excuses. Just a straightforward plan and within a couple of weeks we were sorted. This is exactly what we needed after trying other companies and not getting very far.

Really neat installation and unmatched comms, I'd recommend them to anyone.
